Jane Kennedy -- Principal

I grew up in Kenova, WV and graduated from Marshall University in 1984 with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education with certifications to teach Biological Science and General Science. I Began teaching in Wayne County, WV, then moved to Kanawha County, teaching at George Washington High School and Sissonville High School before coming to Riverside. I returned to Marshall to become certified to teach Physics and completed a Master's of Physical Science in 2007. At Riverside I have taught Physical Science, Biology, Astronomy and Physics from 1999-2014. Served as Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction 2011-2013 at Riverside. April 2014 completed certification for Administration through Salem International University. Proud to be a WARRIOR!!!

Stephen Loftis

Stephen Loftis -- Curriculum Assistant Principal

I received my undergraduate degree from WVSU in 1999. I have earned a Masters degree in Communication in the Classroom from WVU, as well as a Certificate in Educational Leadership from Salem International University. I have been blessed with two wonderful children. My daughter Dee Dee was a great softball player for WVSU and the mother of my beautiful grand daughter Skylar Smith. My son Stevie, is a baseball player for Sissonville High School. He is on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout for Troop 19 in Pocatalico WV. Together, with my wife Margaret, the three of us love to go camping and trout fishing at our camp on the Williams River. We attend First Church of the Nazarene in South Charleston.


Beth Musgrave

Beth Musgrave -- Vice Principal of Discipline

I grew up in South Charleston, WV and I graduated from South Charleston High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with certifications in Biology and General Science. I began teaching in 2003 and I taught 7th Grade Science for 13 years. I received my Master's in Leadership Studies from Marshall University Graduate College in 2014 with certifications in Curriculum and Instruction, Administration, and Assistant Superintendent. In my free time, I enjoy going camping and spending time with my husband.



John Lipscomb -- Vice Principal of Discipline

I have lived in this part of the county for most of my life. I attended DuPont Junior High and graduated from DuPont High in 1978. I started working at DuPont Junior in 1984, while there I became the Head Football Coach as well as coaching basketball and tennis.While at DuPont I earned my administrative degree from Salem International in 2008.  I remained at DuPont until I took the position of Assistant Principal at Andrew Jackson Middle  where I spent 10 years.

In my spare time I enjoy playing golf and watching sporting events as well as having fun with my grandson Chaeten. I am excited for the opportunity to become of the Warrior Nation. 


 Michael Scarbro

Michael Scarbro -- Vice Principal of Discipline
I grew up iAthens, West Virginia which is the home to Concord University where I played college football.  I received undergraduate degrees from Concord (RBA) and WVSU.  My administrative certificate and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership was earned through Salem University.  I've worn many "hats" through service at the formerly named Stonewall Jackson Middle School, St. Albans, and Nitro High Schools.  I also served a stint with the WV Army National Guard's 1/150th Armor Battalion. My wife Angie is the best teacher I've ever known and with our sons Drew and Jake, we enjoy boating, kayaking, and traveling.
