Future Business Leaders of America
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a nationwide nonprofit organization for students established in 1940. The organization is also considered to be one of the largest student-run organizations in the United States. The FBLA's
main purpose is to help students transition into the business world.

Upward Bound
Tech Upward Bound Program provides: Participants motivation to excel in high school and in a post secondary educational setting Free tutoring to all program participants in the target schools ACT and SAT fee waivers to program participants A summer component to develop personal and academic potential during the months of June and July, at no cost to the participant An out-of-state trip for summer program participants who maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or better. Stipends of up to $40 per month during the school year and up to $60 per month for program participants attending and completing the summer component on the campus of WVUIT. JROTC
Riverside High School JROTC is Among the Best of the Best JROTC programs In The Nation!
JROTC is a class offered at Riverside High School and is open to all students grades 9-12 in which students learn about First Aid, the Army Values, teamwork and leadership. JROTC is part of the CTE Program. Students who successfully complete four years of JROTC are considered completer in the CTE Program. JROTC also contains embedded credits; students who successfully complete two consecutive years in the program will receive a P.E. credit.
In addition to class, JROTC offers many opportunities for students to get involved. Students in program may choose to join the Drill Team, Raider Team, Marksmanship Team, or JLAB.
Cadets in the JROTC program perform many Community Service missions in the area. Cadets who choose to participate in these Community Service Missions receive community service hours for these missions.

Health Sciences & Technology Academy (HSTA)
HSTA increases the number of African American and underrepresented students in West Virginia, who pursue degrees in Health Sciences and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) majors, thereby increasing the number of health practitioners and advocates in the medically underserved communities of West Virginia.

Yearbook
Yearbook is a Class at Riverside High School. Students in this class are responsible for designing, marketing, and distributing the annual yearbook. Students requesting this course should be: Self Motivated, Involved in School Activities (Clubs, Atletics, Arts, etc.), and willing to attend out-side of school-time functions.
Students interested in being a part of the yearbook staff should request Yearbook on their Course Selection Sheet or See their Counselor.

BETA
The national BETA club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. For more than 80 years, it has prepared today's students to be tomorrow's leaders. Beta lives by its mission statement to promote the ideals of academic achievements, character, service, and leadership among schools.

Young Democrats
The Young Democrats club is a group united by a common goal: to provide a welcoming environment in which students can express their ideas and opinions. The club has a Speaker Series that runs on most Thursdays. The different orators talk on many progressive topics such as reproductive rights, environmental issues, and poverty in the state. We welcome all new faces to our meetings!

Warrior Band
The Band at Riverside High School is a class, but is much more than just a class. In the Fall Semester the Warrior Band can be seen performing at all Riverside Football Games, as well as in most area parades and civic functions.
They maintain a busy performance schedule with four area Christmas Parades each year as well as an annual Christmas Concert with is always free and open to the public.
Members of the Warrior Band were first members of their Middle School Band program, or have completed a year of Instrumental Ensemble class at Riverside as a replacement for the Middle School requirement.

Show Choir
Riverside High School offers two options for Vocal Music Students: Show Choir, or General Chorus.
The Show Choir, known as "Melodic Fusion" is under the direction of our new Choir Director, Allison Whitener.
Melodic Fusion can be seen at Kanawha County's annual "Swing Sing" which is held at the Municipal Auditorium in November each year. Melodic Fusion keeps a busy competition schedule in addition to Swing Sing as well.
The General Chorus has fewer outside of school requirements than Show Choir, but is an active performing group as well.

Young Life
Younglife is an organization created to have good, clean fun while learning more about Jesus and the position he can hold in your life.

Math and Science Quiz Bowl
The Math and Science Quiz Bowl team is a challenging but fun way to test a student's knowledge in subjects such as math, biology, chemistry, and Earth science. Teams are composed of four students and one alternate. These teams compete against each other as well as other schools at local and state competitions.

Prom Committee
Along with faculty sponsors, the annual Prom at Riverside High School is a planned and produced by students who are a member of the Prom Committee.
At the beginning stages, there are a lot of decisions to be made about "Prom 2022." These decisions will be made by the students who attend the Prom Committee Meetings!
Once everything has been decided and a plan created, it is the Prom Committee members who are responsible for following through and producing the prom.
Let's have the best Prom Possible - Bring Your Ideas, A Good Attitude, and Be Willing To Do The Work!!!
Meetings will be held every Thursday in Ms. Allen's Room (A15) at 7:30am.

Mu Alpha Theta
Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, was formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma. We are dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students.
